Sugar Sammy: The Hour

When it comes to comedy, Canada has an amazing history.  And you know what?  The future is just as bright.  We've got Sugar Sammy, who the 'Hollywood Reporter' calls him one of the top ten rising comedy talents in the world.

Sammy grew up in Montreal in a traditional Indo-Canadian family.  His defining moment came when he was eight - in an East Indian video store.  He talked his mom into renting the only English language movie they had - Eddie Murphy's 'Delirious.'  I bet his mom had no idea what it was - because little Sammy watched it six times!

That got him hooked on comedy, and by the time he left high school, Sammy was performing in clubs.  Then in 2004, he got his big break.  'Just For Laughs' came calling.  Since then, Sammy has sold out shows all over the world and opened for Dave Chappelle.  He's also put out a comedy album called 'Down with the Brown', where he gives his take on multicultural society - and he does it in four languages - English, French, Punjabi and Hindi.  Recently, he hosted his own special on HBO Canada and is currently on tour with 'Just for Laughs.'
